Materials

At MONNARITA, all of our products are made from high-quality rattan, as is this lamp. Rattan palms are found in tropical climates and are noted for the speed at which they grow. When these palms are harvested to make furniture, it takes them a much shorter time to grow back than it takes for trees.

As a result, harvesting rattan is not nearly as harmful to the environment as harvesting trees. Although most of the rattan that’s harvested occurs naturally in forests, this palm can also be grown commercially like other crops.
